Welcome to Our Website !
Sumner County Emergency Management responds to natural
and man-made disasters, seven days a week, 365 days each
year to assist emergency response agencies (police, fire, and
EMS) in obtaining the resources necessary to effectively recover
from a given incident.
We provide preparedness training for the different agencies,
groups and schools in the county, assist with hazard analysis
and emergency planning, administer Homeland Security grants,
and serve as Sumner County's Homeland Security Agency with
different issues relating to the safety of our citizens from the
threat of terrorism.
Our department also manages severe weather events and
reports  observations to the National Weather Service that are
essential to the public warning system.
The National Weather Service in Wichita will be
making their annual public presentation of
"Storm Fury on the Plains" on Monday,
February 27 at 6:30pm. The presentation will be
at the Wellington High School Auditorium and
is open for everyone to attend.

Come out and learn how to protect yourself and
family, and learn how to identify severe weather
as it develops.
